About this kit
Builds a weekly list of local businesses in one area and keeps it in one spreadsheet that does not repeat a listing it has already seen.
- Reads the sheet's dedupe columns before it collects anything
- Reads the Actor's input schema free, then runs one capped scrape a week on your Apify account
- Appends only businesses with a phone or a website, each with its listing link
- Never overwrites or deletes a row, and never fills a blank field from guesswork
How it works
Drive
Spreadsheet and folder access only. The worker finds the lead sheet by name, reads the columns it dedupes against, and adds new rows to the bottom. It has no tool that can change or remove a row that is already there, it cannot create a spreadsheet, and it cannot open documents or any other file type.
- Search files: Find the lead spreadsheet by name among the files and folders this worker is allowed to see.
- Get file metadata: Confirm the file it found is the right one before touching it - that it is a spreadsheet and not a same-named document, and when it was last changed.
- Read sheet data: Read the header and the dedupe columns already in the sheet at the start of every run, and re-read them to confirm an append landed. This is the only memory this worker has.
- Append sheet data: Add the new lead rows to the bottom of the sheet in one call. This is the worker's only write - it appends and nothing else, so an existing row can never be overwritten or deleted.
