About this kit
Tells your crew where hail actually fell overnight, before anyone starts driving.
- Reads verified National Weather Service storm reports for the counties you serve
- Ranks each area by measured hail size, so the biggest stones come first
- Runs every weekday morning at 6:00 AM and says plainly when nothing happened
- United States only, and it messages nobody: the brief is the run's result, delivered wherever you set
How it works
NWS Storm Reports
The National Weather Service's Local Storm Reports: severe weather an observer actually reported, with the hail size, the county and the hour. Read-only, and the record is public, so there is nothing to connect.
- Get report summary: Counts and peak hail size per county, without the individual reports. Used first each morning to learn whether anything happened at all.
- Search reports: The individual reports behind those counts, with size, location, time and the issuing office, so every line of the brief can cite the report it came from.
